busy guy running w textIt’s funny because I speak with CEO’s and business owners all the time and the biggest reason they give for not making better use of LinkedIn to grow their business is…TIME.

“You don’t understand Dennis, I am so busy I just don’t have the time.”

If I had a nickel for every time I heard this, well let’s just say I’d  have a lot nickels that’s for sure!

So today I am going to share with you busy people, my favorite strategy for staying top of mind with your LinkedIn network.  If you follow this advice it will only take you 15-30 minutes per week to keep your name and brand in front of your target market.

So what’s the trick…it’s simple. Share daily content updates with your network!

I know, I know but Dennis I don’t have time to do write articles and post them everyday.  Ok well here’s the good news, you can stay top of mind and position yourself as a thought leader in your industry without ever writing a blog post or article and here’s how.

3 Easy Steps to Stay Top of Mind in 15-30 Minutes/Week

1.) Sign up for free www.Feedly.com account. Feedly is a content aggregation service which allows quickly and easily view articles from different content sources like blogs, trade journals, magazines and other websites. Just search for and add interesting content sources to your Feedly account and every time you login there will be new content for you to choose from.

Tip – Be sure you focus on adding content that is interesting to your target audience vs what you or your competitors like to read.

2.) Signup for a free www.Hootsuite.com account. Hootsuite is a social media management tool that allows you to schedule updates into the future on LinkedIn and other social networks.  Setup is simple and should only take you a few minutes.

3.) Login to your Feedly account once per week or even monthly and quickly select articles you think your target market would be interested in.  Once you find an article you think your connections will like, cut and paste the link to the article into your Hootsuite compose message window and then schedule for a future date and time.  I suggest posting 1 update per day, with the best time to post updates between 8:30 – 9:30 am Monday through Thursday.

Tip – Hootsuite has a very cool add on for the Google Chrome browser called Hootlet that makes scheduling content even faster and easier.

This simple 3 step system is by far the easiest way I have found for busy people to stay top of mind on LinkedIn in as little as 15-30 minutes per week.
